1. Introduction
Max Screen Recorder ("the App") is provided by MadFox Developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the App. By installing or using the App, you consent to these practices.

2. Data We Handle
- Screen and audio content: Recordings you create may include screen images, system audio, and optional microphone audio. These files stay on your device unless you choose to share or back them up.
- App settings and preferences: Resolution, bitrate, theme, overlay options, and similar choices are stored locally via Jetpack DataStore.
- Crash and analytics data: When enabled, Firebase Analytics captures anonymous usage events (for example, feature usage and session data) and Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports (stack traces, device model, OS version, coarse location derived from IP). These are used solely to improve stability and experience.
3. How We Use Information
- Deliver core functionality such as screen capture, floating controls, editing, and playback.
- Maintain your chosen configuration across sessions.
- Diagnose issues and understand feature adoption through aggregated analytics and crash diagnostics.
4. Data Sharing and Transfers
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- Firebase processes analytics and crash data on our behalf under their privacy terms.
- Screen recordings remain local; we do not access or transmit them unless you explicitly share them using your device's share sheet or external services.
5. Storage and Retention
- Recordings and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Firebase retaining periods follow Google's default policies; crash logs and analytics are automatically purged after their standard retention windows.
6. Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions to deliver its features:
- Screen capture (MediaProjection): Required to record your screen.
- Microphone (optional): Enables voice narration in recordings.
- Overlay permission: Allows floating controls to appear above other apps.
- Media/storage access: Saves recordings into Movies/MaxScreenRecorder and shows thumbnails.
- Foreground service/notifications: Keeps recording active while providing status controls.
Permissions can be revoked through Android system settings, although disabling some permissions will limit functionality.
7. Security
- Recordings are saved using Android's scoped storage for controlled access.
- We rely on Firebase's built-in safeguards for transmitted diagnostics data.
- No external servers or custom backends are used; data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
8. Children's Privacy
The App targets a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us so we can delete it.
9. Your Choices
- Delete recordings directly within the App or via your file manager.
- Adjust permissions at any time in system settings.
- Opt out of analytics/crash reporting by disabling network access or through system-level Google settings (when available). You may also uninstall the App to stop all collection.
10. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. Updated policies will appear in the App listing; continued use means you accept the changes.
